This dream American home of the Tolinan and De la Cruz couple in Valencia City Bukidnon is designed by the couple owners themselves. A hodgepodge of modern and classic designs carefully thought out by the owners.
What stands out in this design is the prominent American design but accented by a lot of good wood and natural stones – giving it that high end look – and yes indeed judging by the cost to build and finish the house – this is in the high end spectrum.
Even the walls are not the usual 4 inches hollows but 6 inches plus 3 inches thick of plastering giving it an above standard very strong walls.
The choice of yellow tinted glass is a good contrast of the light blue paint, and the mixture of dark green and brown stones on the pillars and corners makes it look very elegant.

i think your description of this house as a “hodgepodge of classic and modern designs”. Parang nakakahilong sundan ang design lines ng creation.. conflicting ang mga design elements.. looks like mas unified ang look ng structure na ito if it enhances more the classic design lines, specially sa outside ng bahay.. para hindi looking like too “aspirational” ang dating ng bahay.. this will be either a tough or easy challenge for the couple., depending on how they approach this observation.. at this point, they might need to get some ideas or consultation from an outside art director (movie people) or a really creative architect schooled in classic (western and filipino) designs (na hindi gaya gaya lang sa modern western designs ng new homes being built in the philippines) .. but i do deeply admire the passion, creativity and the dedication, plus the resources the couple spent on making their dream house a reality.
