The contractor should observe and the required setback ,you mentioned about proposed to construct besides your house so it will follow 2meters setback from property line, however if bldg owner decides to maximized his/her lot then a fire wall shall be put . If will go beyond your property or encroach your lot then it would be a problem on the contractor or bldg owners part.

Hi Jade,

The building should not go beyond the lot owner’s property line as specified in his title.

The engineer, contractor, building owner should also follow the National building code of the Philippines. They should also publicly post their building permit number.

Construction Violations can be raised at your city’s Chief engineer.
